# Upgrading Clientexec

Keeping your Clientexec installation up to date is essential for accessing the latest features, performance improvements, and security patches.

### 🔄 Automatic Updating (Recommended)

Starting with **Clientexec 5.2.0**, you can update directly from the admin interface.
**To update automatically:**

1. Log in to your **Admin Panel**.
2. Look for the notice at the bottom that says **"New Version Available"**.
3. Click the link and follow the on-screen instructions.

### 🛠️ Manual Updating

If you prefer or need to update manually, follow these steps:

2. **Ensure your server meets** [system requirements](https://docs.clientexec.com/en/article/system-requirements-yl750s/) 
3. **Download the latest version** from: [https://www.clientexec.com/download](https://www.clientexec.com/download)
4. Unzip the package on your local computer.
5. Using FTP, connect to your server and **delete all files** except:
    * `config.php`
    * The `uploads/` directory
6. Upload the new files from the unzipped package to your Clientexec directory. (note: the download will include a copy of the config.php file, do not overwrite that!).
7. Open your Clientexec URL in your browser and **follow the upgrade instructions**.
