# Cookie Usage in Clientexec

Clientexec uses cookies to manage sessions and enhance the user experience by storing minimal, non-sensitive data on a visitor’s device.

#### 🧾 Types of Cookies Used

Below are the cookies that Clientexec sets when users interact with the client area:

**🔗 Affiliate Cookie**
* **Purpose:** Tracks affiliate referrals
* **Details:** This cookie is created when a customer is referred by an affiliate. It stores the ID of the affiliate (client) who made the referral.
* **Lifespan:** Default is **90 days**, but this can be modified in:
`Settings > Affiliates > General > Length of Cookie`
* **Use Case:** Ensures affiliates receive credit if the referred customer places an order within the cookie window.

**🔐 RememberMe Cookie**
* **Purpose:** Enables automatic login
* **Details:** Set only if a user checks “Remember Me” at login.
* **Lifespan:** Persists for **365 days**, or until the user logs out.
* **Security:** Used to securely log users back into their account.

**🕓 Session Cookie**
* **Purpose:** Maintains active session data
* **Details:** Stores a session ID used to track active sessions and page-to-page navigation.
* **Lifespan:** This is a **session-only cookie** and is deleted when the browser is closed.
* **Privacy:** No personal information is stored.
